Expectation
I felt inspired to write this article because this is a subject that I hear spoken about very little, especially in our industry.
“Expectation must always proceed Miracles”
Are you pregnant with expectation? Lol! (sorry fellas ;P) You should be, because expectation is the birth place of the miraculous!!
Yesterday, I had a worked hard on my business, listened to trainings, prospected and overall I had an eventful day and I felt that I’d done all I’d set out to do. Now, when I went to bed I whole heartedly expected to have a result from the work I’d previously done. I detached myself from the outcome and planned my itinerary for the next day.
Expectation breeds results
The next morning, I checked my email and had literally made money overnight. Now this didn’t come from someone that I’d spoken to the day before, it wasn’t a lead that had converted into a sale…but you know what? I expected something to happen, I expected a result and got it.
Now some may say “Here she goes getting all spiritual on us”….but let me ask you a couple of questions…Have you ever noticed how;
- Doctors expect a patient to get well.
- Mechanics expect whatever problem your car has to be fixed.
- Builders create a structure and expect it to stay together.
- Investors expect a profit and increase.
Expectation is a way of life…for some, but it should be for everyone. Seriously think about this because it could change your life…
“What are you expecting…?”
I was thinking to myself, that if people in our industry had the expectation thing down, they would have more staying power. When they’re not getting leads, they’ll say “I’m going to keep on at this till I do get some”, when people aren’t joining them in business, they’ll say, “I’m going to keep prospecting until someone does“. It fascinates me that people really feel that if they keep doing something with no results things will stay that way?? There has to be a season of change. That’s just determined by how consistent you are…
If you look at entrepreneurs and massively successful people like Bill Gates, Richard Branson, they had set backs and many failures, BUT they kept going because they had full expectation that it would all pan out, eventually…
“So, how long do I go at it?”, I hear you ask. My response would be:
“GO AT IT UNTIL YOUR NOTHING BEOMES SOMETHING!”
Keep going until you experience that thing you expect!! The expectation you have will keep you holding on, I promise you that.
Expectation will take you through…
Expectation will take you through discomfort. It will take you past other people’s opinions, it will take you through stuff that doesn’t make sense.
It’s important to have people around you that have a similar mind, desire and drive as you…that’s one of the major reasons I love being part of the community I’m in right now on facebook. So, be sure to be around those that encourage you and back you up.
So, I hope this article has enouraged you and enlightened you about a key component you may be missing in your business right now!
Everyday, I expect great things to happen in my business…click on the image below to find out what that business is…

Wow! Excellent information Anne! Thanks
I remember that when I began, I had zero results but I felt quite calm about it as I knew they would come.
It was tough at first, and every now and then, the doubt would creep in but you got to eliminate the negative thoughts.
Do not let the negativity make you quit!
And I agree that being part of a community certainly helps.
Thanks again

Yes Anne, expectation is a REAL part of our lives. We always expect things to be done whatever we have to get done. Trouble is, some people expect too much and then blame someone for their own faults or lack of action. It’s a sad part of this world that there is so much “blame” and yet with a shift in thinking we can ALL overcome this and have a better life by expecting better.

Yes Barrie, it just take a mental shift…it doesn’t happen overnight, but with time people can totally change things around.
This is a great post. I loved your comparisons to doctors and other business owners who expect the results to be good. It’s a good thing to keep in mind.
